The DOJ swapped out attorneys on the census case without explanation.

Reminder: SDNY previously withdrew representation in the Census lawsuit, before being replaced by the last Main Justice team.

Judge Furman had questions about that and probably will about this too.
This was a footnote from one of Judge Furman’s rulings strongly suggesting that SDNY didn’t want to touch the #2020Census, noting he “could only speculate” as to the reasons for their withdrawal.
