For some strange reason, they seem to believe that Congress—even if presented with blatant flaunting of contempt, and clear and obvious corruption—will not exercise its power to defend its constitutional authority.
This is the most exhausting take.

The likelihood the Senate will not do its job is not a reason to not do your job. Make them not do their job. Make them be seen not doing it. Don't not do their job for them. Don't normalize crime and corruption.
What the House can do is its Constitutional duty.

Telling the truth is worth doing even if it's unlikely to be believed.

Doing what's right is an end in itself.

Capitulation before the fact is what corrupt power wants. We should be absolutely opposed to giving it to them.
And this is precisely correct. What giving cruel people impunity means is that cruel people will act with impunity.
