1/ Taking a twist on John Rawls ethical thought experiment: You get to make laws the DAY BEFORE you are born—with the catch being you don’t know WHERE you will be born or IF you will be born—
-male / female
-able bodied / handicapped
-quick / slow witted
-Brooklyn / Bangladesh...

2/ It‘s meant to make you realize in the ‘ovarian lottery’ you don’t know which 1 of 7,000,000,000 lives you may be born into—luck plays a huge role—and most tickets come up very unlucky circumstances...

BUT now ask yourself: PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE?

When would you like to live?—

3/ WHEN would you like to be born (past, present, future)

Which year do you think will provide you the best life, options, choices, freedoms, possibilities: 550, 1250, 1550, 1850, 1950, 2050, 2150...?

4/ WHEN do you think you might have best shot of pulling a lottery ticket giving you the best possible living standards? (Past, Present, Future)—

are you
-a complacent optimist? a complacent pessimist?
-a conditional optimist? a conditional pessimist?

5/ VERY grateful for the conditional optimists Lux gets to find + fund who are inventing a future I am excited to live in.

I believe most Lux family entrepreneurs are driven by discontent+ dissatisfaction with the past or present—

—the present negative fuels the future positive
