1. OK, I admit it.

I think it's fine that Democrats are fighting with each other.

Let me explain.
2. There is a big debate about the future of the Democratic Party.

Does the party need to represent a "return to normalcy" after Trump?

Or should it advocate for bold positions about the nation's biggest problems: health care, climate, wage stagnation?
3. The idea that everyone should pretend there is no such agreement within the party and no Democrat should criticize another Democrat seems pointless.

It's better in my view to hash it out.
4. One issues is that the most powerful forces in the Democratic Party are protecting Trump from impeachment. They also just sent billions of dollars to Trump's CBP etc with no strings attached.

This should be controversial and spark a debate.
5. Perhaps the Democratic leadership knows what's best and this is an optimal political strategy. But the idea that everyone else should shut up and accept the idea that protecting and cooperating with Trump should be the posture of the Democratic Party is wrong.
6. The last two presidents emerged out of very contested and often nasty primary battles. Party unity does not produce the best nominee or benefit the party in any tangible way.
