With his numbers dropping and his first debate performance widely panned, Biden is scrambling for a foothold by deploying right-wing distortions to scare seniors. It’s the most joyless, pessimistic campaign I can remember - especially given the massive assets he started with.
Biden was gifted the Obama legacy of inspiring Americans to be their best selves. But rather than building on it, Biden is manipulating Obama’s aura to regurgitate Paul Ryan’s talking points and run on fear while telling everyone they can’t do any better.
It’s no wonder Obama won’t endorse Biden.
Maybe. But Obama talked Biden out of running in 2016. And the lack of enthusiasm from Obama’s circle for Biden’s current run is palpable. The preponderance of evidence suggests Obama’s lack of endorsement is exactly what it seems: a lack of confidence.
