1/ One of the great privileges I have when putting #MassiveAdoption together is meeting #Bitcoin #blockchain #crypto enterpreneurs across the country building ways away from SF/NY.

So I'm going to do a state-by-state series highlighting them.

2/ This is just a couple of companies to get us started. I'd love all of you to add your own picks & to tag folks in this state who are building around Bitcoin or on Bitcoin, crypto and blockchains. Let's shine some light inside the U.S., not just on the coasts.

3/ We start with #NorthCarolina to honor one of the stars of #Libra #LibraInDC day, Representative Patrick McHenry.

Bitcoin & blockchain aren't the first thing that come to mind when you think of NC, but you'd miss out on a lot, so let's get started.

4/ @PatrickMcHenry, representing North Carolina's 10th District, blew everyone away today with his depth of knowledge and insights on Bitcoin.

As Pomp said: "A sitting Congressman of the United States government is a full-on Bitcoiner"

Note he's not from a 'tech hub'...

5/ We move on to the dream team of @MarkYusko, @JWilliamsFstmed & @APompliano with Morgan Creek Digital, who are getting traditional assets into crypto (yes, that includes Bitcoin)

They're based in Chapel Hill, outside of Raleigh.

6/ In Raleigh, Eli Sheets @Sheets173 is a lawyer and technologist building @ldeaBlock, which has the opportunity to totally change the way IP is protected.

Eli is using the essence of blockchains - time stamping - to solve not only a legal issue but solve for financial inclusion

7/ Brian Platz @bplatz & Andrew Filipowski @SilkRoadFlip are working on @FlureePBC, which is building a blockchain database to power deep interoperability (a core issue) that many companies in our space are starting to use.

8/ Jay Wall @iamjaywall is working with Fluree to apply their graph database infrastructure at his startup Immutamed to secure the transfer of historical patient data, potentially improving healthcare and patient outcomes for us all.

9/ Also a quick shout out to @ericporper, one of the community organizers in NC, co-chair of the North Carolina Blockchain Initiative, and Rich Spuller @richspuller, who co-organizes the largest local conference, @Cryptolina

10/ Please share this, tag friends and retweet so that we can identify all of the builders, investors and team members who make the Bitcoin, blockchain and crypto industry strong in the great state of North Carolina.

11/ With egg on my face I have to admit I left off superstar @trylolli - @MattSenter @alexadelman @aubreystrobel @sajordan26, who straddle between NYC and #NorthCarolina (engineering and support).

If that isn't a vote for the stature of the industry in NC I don't know what is!
