Further to our discussion on Nigeria’s development and the contributions, we obviously have a vision problem. We have visions as individuals, families, organisations, and even ethnic groups, but not as a nation. #vision #theNigeriandream
Vision is one of the most potent tools for influence. It gives hope. It defines direction. It fosters unity. It becomes the basis for evaluation, defining success. A vision problem is a leadership problem. #vision #theNigeriandream
Where there is no vision, there is no leadership. The eyes are in the head. Leadership is more than position. It is influence. We’re all leaders, from the president to the peasant and all in between. That includes you and me. #vision #theNigeriandream
Not only does a leader have a vision of development, they can communicate it. They are good story tellers, showing people a new and better version of themselves and their environment in the vision. #vision #theNigeriandream
Also, the leader lives the vision, modeling the beliefs, values and behaviour that will make the vision a reality. If you model religious and ethnic bigotry, you are an old Nigerian. The new Nigerian models integrity, love and excellence. #vision #theNigeriandream
You see, leadership is a skill. It’s an art and a science. It can be learned. Have we been taught leadership? By whom and where? How many books have you read on leadership? #vision #theNigeriandream
I see a developed Nigeria. I live it daily. By the way, the parts of the world that brought our major religions are developed. If we remain wretched because of wanting superiority for a religion or tribe we are most foolish indeed. #vision #theNigeriandream
Believe in, model and sell the vision of the developed Nigeria to others. If Nigeria does not choose development, it may go the way of other countries deeply divided by religions and tribes, falling into deep crisis. GOD FORBID! #vision #theNigeriandream
The road to my hometown can look like this in a few years, though it is full of potholes now. #vision #theNigeriandream
