1. The Law of Time Perspective says the longer the time you factor into your decisions and actions the higher you rise. #eternity
2. The wisest people on earth are those that are eternity-minded. Being eternity-minded cures us of short term thinking and brings God’s dimension into daily living for us. #eternity
3. Matthew 6:19-21 NLT: “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal ...” #eternity
4. “Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” #eternity
5. We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in eternity because our Lord, Jesus Christ, predicted He would rise from death and was able to pull it off. #eternity
6. We do things within the context of time that have impact in the eternity dimension (Matt. 25). #eternity
7. Let’s go back to the story we explored last week in Luke 16. A rich man and a poor man died and found themselves in different places. One in paradise and the other in hell. #eternity
8. Luke 16:27-28 NLT: “Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don’t end up in this place of torment.’” #eternity
9. The lesson: after death, people regret how they used their influence on earth. There is s leadership dimension to eternity. #eternity
10. I firmly believe that many leaders will realise and regret how they squandered their opportunities to influence and affect people positively while on earth. One person affecting millions of lives is a huge opportunity indeed. #eternity
11. Such negative influence is fueled by greed, prejudice, insecurity, ignorance, pride, hatred, etc. #eternity
12. I read in Rick Joyner’s book, The Final Quest, how in a revelation of heaven, he met founders and heads of ministries that had been famous on earth who were sitting at the lowest level. #eternity
13. He was surprised. But these men and women confessed they had manipulated, abused and even slandered the people God sent to them for training. #eternity
14. They were happy to have escaped hell and to barely make it into heaven, though without a lot of rewards. #eternityminded
15. Abuse of influence and position happens at all levels. The person God has given you influence over is an eternal soul. You will account for your influence over them before God. #eternityminded
16. According to Matthew 25, giving food and drink to the hungry and thirsty, clothing the naked and visiting those in prison will count at the Judgment. #eternity
17. So will making laws and policies that improve people’s lives and enforcing them. #eternity
18. Mark 10:42-45 NLT: “So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different ...” #eternity
19. “Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else ...” #eternity
20. “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” #eternity
21. Sacrifice on earth makes great impact in eternity! #eternityminded
22. Mark 10:21 NLT: “Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” #eternity
23. The young rich ruler was not that interested in adding value to others. Jesus explained what the man missed. #eternity
24. Mark 10:29-30 NLT: “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, ...” #eternity
25. ”... will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.” #eternity
26. ”The assessment for leaders will be different. James 3:1 NLT: “Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.” #eternity
27. God says we should pray for leaders because the temptations that come with leadership are heavy.” #eternity
28. 1 Chronicles 21:1 NLT: “Satan rose up against Israel and caused David to take a census of the people of Israel.” #eternity
29. Satan seeks to deprive leaders and their followers of insight and foresight. #eternity
30. Matthew 15:14 NLT: “So ignore them. They are blind guides leading the blind, and if one blind person guides another, they will both fall into a ditch.” #eternity
31. We need God’s grace to use our influence well, especially in unpredictable times. That grace comes through Christ and through humility. #eternity
32. We receive forgiveness of sins through Him, and receive His wisdom and power to help us live daily. #eternity
33. Prayer: Lord, help me to use my influence well. #eternityminded
