1/ Art. III, Sec. 2 provides "[i]n all Cases . . . in which a State shall be [a] Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction." Does the text of the Constitution grant #SCOTUS the discretion to decline jurisdiction of a case in which "a State shall be [a] Party"?
2/ In Nebraska v. Colorado, Justices Thomas and Alito said #SCOTUS could not decline to exercise jurisdiction in a suit between two states. Federal law provides that #SCOTUS has "exclusive" jurisdiction over such suits.

3/ Thomas and Alito also noted that #SCOTUS has declined to exercise jurisdiction where only one state is a party. They would reconsider this doctrine.

Trump administration deliberately complicating the background check process is leaving 1000+ recruits in limbo. Once their visa runs out, they will be deported - many back to countries in which their lives would be at risk due to their willingness to serve in the US military.
The pathway to citizenship program call MAVNI allows 3 years to complete a background check. What kind of a ridiculous background check takes more than 3 years?

I’m probably going to catch a lot of flak for this, but it needs to be done. As I watched the House hearing today, I found myself getting increasingly angry at the way Rod Rosenstein was being treated. That’s right. Angry. And I’m going to explain why.
Increasingly I see on Twitter people who absolutely excoriate anyone who disagrees with them. In the past two days I’ve had to block several people, something I do very rarely. I’ve been accused of having “less than 1/2 a brain” and of being “completely worthless”.
I’ve been been accused of being “worse than libs”. I don’t take these things personally. My skin is far to thick for that. But, I also don’t have to subject myself to rude and insolent people whose only goal is to irritate and rile people up. So, I blocked them.
