Hello from Flint, MI, where former Congressman and presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke is holding a town hall at 100K Ideas, a local nonprofit. 
A voter asked Beto O'Rourke what he'd do to help Hispanic Americans hurting from rhetoric out of the Trump admin-- O'Rourke hit Trump for "asking four duly elected members of Congress who happen to be women of color to go back to their country, which is racism, pure and simple."
On how he'd beat Trump, Beto O'Rourke says, "Getting into the muck, descending into his pettiness, his meanness, his name-calling, that’s not the way to do it," & calls for "elevating it so that every single American sees a place for themselves in...the future of this country."
Here in Flint, Beto O'Rourke was asked how he'd handle Republicans as POTUS-- he said focused on "making sure that if Mitch McConnell is still there, he’s still there as the minority, and not the Majority Leader moving forward," touting his work with Republicans in the House.
After his remarks in Flint, I asked Beto O'Rourke about impeachment- he told me, "the House has to begin these proceedings, whatever the popularity, the polling, the political prospects, they’ve got to put the country before anything else & that demands beginning impeachment now"
I pressed Beto O'Rourke if he thought a GOP Senate would vote to impeach Trump-- he told me, "I believe in this country, and I believe that those in positions of public trust, once they feel the pressure from their constituents, will put this country before their next election."
In Flint, MI @deepa_shivaram asked Beto O’Rourke if he was doing anything new to prepare for next week’s CNN debate— he told her, “I'm making sure that I'm really thinking through how on a very crowded stage with really talented candidates, we can stand out.”
