Trump told reporters that you can say today was “a great day for me, but I don’t even like to say that. It’s great.”
Trump, who responded to Mueller’s report by falsely claiming “complete and total exoneration,” now says Mueller didn’t have the right to exonerate him.
Trump calls a reporter “fake news” and insults her personally for saying Trump could be indicted once out of office. He then falsely claims that this is what Mueller corrected at the second hearing today; in fact, he corrected something else.
Trump says he's going to West Virginia which is #1 or #2 in economic growth. It was 19th in 2018.
Asked about his aides being untruthful, Trump says Mueller's aides were untruthful, and he calls a reporter untruthful for the question.

Trump describes the El Paso and Dayton attacks as "evil." He calls the El Paso killer "a wicked man."

Here's a first batch of debate fact checks (more coming). Biden wrong that Obama put protection for DREAMers in actual "law"; Yang exaggerated in attributing mall closures to Amazon alone; Harris actually understated pharma/insurer profits: cnn.com/2019/07/31/pol…
While arguing with each other, Biden and Booker both omitted important context:

1) Biden touted his 2007-onward push to kill the 100-to-1 crack/cocaine sentencing disparity...while not mentioning he was a leading figure behind the 1986 law that created the disparity.
2) Booker touted praise he got from the ACLU, late in his mayoral term, over Newark police reform...while not mentioning that this was after the ACLU filed a long complaint about policing in Newark, which was followed by a DOJ investigation that found major Booker-era violations.

As with the first Democratic debate last time around, a highly factual debate so far. (I don't check opinion and prediction.) The leading candidates have been almost entirely accurate.
One thing that Buttigieg and O'Rourke tonight, and others before, have gotten a bit wrong - the "12 years to climate disaster" claim. The report used a "12 years" timeline only to align with countries that had set goals for 2030. "12 years" isn't some scientific tipping point.
The IPCC scientists emphasize that climate action needs to happen immediately. But the co-chair of its emissions reduction working group told me they were just trying to be helpful, not alarmist, with the "12 years" thing, but the media and politicians got confused by it.

Mueller has Barr checkmated.

How does Barr support clearing Trump on obstruction when "substantial evidence" exists of all 3 elements for the crime of obstruction in multiple episodes?

One can argue night and day that a prosecutor proves a crime, not innocence.

But how does Barr support Trump's innocence when Mueller's report supports all 3 elements of obstruction being met in multiple cases? /2
Conversely, how does Barr support he couldn't establish the crime of obstruction?

Meanwhile, Mueller's investigative findings stand to the contrary. /3
