Thread: Avoiding Excessive speech
I begin with the Name of Allaah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Imam Al-Auza’yi (Rahimahullah) said: A believer speaks less but acts more while a hypocrite speaks much with little deeds.

Ata’ bin Abi Rabah said: “Those that came before us (the salaf), used to detest the excessive speech. And they considered anything as excessive speech except speaking about the Book of Allaah, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh), commanding good and forbidden evil,.....
and speaking about what a man needs to speak because of a need he has to fulfil in his daily life.”
Brothers and sisters in Islam, whatever we say, is recorded either for or against us.
