Thread: Where we got it wrong
We got it wrong as a people the moment materialism was made the only thing worth achieving and righteousness was relegated to the tail end. When children are nurtured on the principle of materialism where religion and spirituality is painted as backwardness and extremism,
.... then we have no cause to raise an eyebrow when they support anything amoral to earn material gains.
The way out is to introduce Allaah to our kids and shift their focus from this temporary world to the Hereafter. For decades now, we have placed much emphasis on material success at the detriment of spiritual development, the backlash is what we are witnessing today.
And as long as we will keep promoting material gains as the yardstick for measuring success, we risk losing the future generation to atheism and secularism.
