(1/3) You know you've reached peak trans when lesbians -- homosexual females -- are now considered homophobic for not wanting to date people who are not also homosexual females.
(2/3) What's so insulting is that we were lesbians when it wasn't cool or even safe to be lesbians. Now that we've fought all the hard battles, a bunch of activists think they can barge in, redefine words, and marginalize us.
(3/3) If that isn't the height of narcissistic entitlement, I don't know what is. And you wonder why we push back as you disparage us as TERFs and bigots. We were here first, and you don't get to colonize us. Deal with it.

(1/15) How about a little tweetstorm? Inspired by a friendly discussion I had about the Quakers last night. It struck me that most people don’t know who they are. I happen to be married to one. She’s a lifelong Quaker, and I’m a lifelong Catholic.
(2/15) We got married in her Quaker meeting (not “church”!), to give you an idea of where most Quakers fall on the political spectrum these days. Quakers have always been warriors for radical equality. They were on the forefront of the abolition and suffrage movements.
(3/15) They also won political protections for conscientious objectors. Most are pacifists. They had a historical reputation for being honest and simple people and were among the most trusted businesspeople as a result.

From a FB discussion on Gabbard and Yang, and why the establishment left seems to hate them so much. With Tulsi it's her criticism of U.S. imperialism, but it's also true that coastal liberals seethe with contempt for the white working class and anyone who sympathizes with them.
Why bring it up? Because ignoring their plight for so long is what got Trump elected. Not racists, not Russians. And if their needs continue to be ignored, there will be more Trumps. DJT is a symptom, not the disease.
Unfortunately, I think attitudes like these are all too common among coastal lefties. They just don't get it.

(1/12) One more tweetstorm for the day, and then I’m done. First, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who’s followed me over the past three days. I don’t value my worth by social media popularity, but to go from 300 followers to over 1,800 is pretty humbling.
(2/12) I do what I do on here b/c I’ve always been politically opinionated & feel I have an interesting perspective to share. Also, I’m working through an illness & transitioning from one part of my career to another, so I’m sort of hanging out here while I have some downtime.
(3/12) I have no inflated sense of self, or any illusions that my voice is anything special. I just want to encourage people to keep fighting, keep questioning, push yourself out of your comfort zone, examine your own beliefs regularly to make sure they stand up to scrutiny.

People wonder why I'd want to appear--especially appear naked--on an unscripted documentary series (aka "Reality TV"), when #trans people have had so many negative experiences in the media, our stories given shallow treatments and exploited for dramatic effect. 1/?
But if I'm honest, I wasn't drawn to appearing on @NakedAndAfraid despite the nudity requirement--it was an alluring feature.

I felt, as a trans guy, that stripping down would be a relief, a way to get it over with & just finally say the unsayable, widely and publicly.
So often our bodies are under scrutiny, spoken or unspoken -- whether at work, at the doctor's office, around the family of a love interest, etc.

People seem to think your junk is their business. But always on their terms.

It's the first ever International #PronounsDay! I'm so excited and I want you to be excited, too.

Here are a few things to know about pronouns:

1. Many #trans people, myself included, HAVE to out ourselves & tell people our pronouns, if we want others to gender us correctly.
YOU CAN HELP normalize this by doing a couple of REALLY simple things:

- Edit your Twitter & FB bio, email sig, etc to include your pronouns, whether you're #trans or not.

- ALWAYS introduce yourself with your name AND pronouns, eg: "I'm Danielle & my pronouns are she/her."
2. Understand that correct pronouns are NOT optional, nor a preference. In some jurisdictions, it's even against sex-based discrimination laws to misgender someone.

- NEVER say "preferred pronouns." It's not a preference. My pronouns are she/her; anything else is inaccurate.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility. The day trans people shed their invisibility cloaks, creak out from the shadows and go BOO!

Our one day in the light!!! And there is quite the light on us currently
Trans issues are everywhere at the moment and with that has come a lot of hate, misinformation and lies.

We need more visible trans people out there, telling our stories as there is no 1 way to be trans, no uniform transition story.
