over the next few months prepare for certain political journalists to report things like, "Trump campaign advisers say the Democrats' response to [political crisis du jour] will likely backfire" and "Brad Pascale says everything is playing out exactly as the Trump campaign hoped"
they will say this no 👏 matter 👏 what 👏 is👏 going 👏 on👏 at👏 all👏 times
The Trump's campaign's job is to exude confidence and control. They will downplay negative polls, they will insist they expected whatever is happening to happen, they will criticize strong responses from Democrats as politically foolish
they will say things like, "We're going to win Nevada"
Last thought. All campaigns do this! The problem is that many reporters feel they blew it in 2016, and so are still insecure about disagreeing with Trump's political judgment. The Trump campaign knows this, and will lean in on it hard, especially w/r/t white working class voters
