Last week Trump made a big show of signing an agreement w/ Guatemala on asylum seekers.

Neither government has released the text of the deal yet.
Experts have had to glean what they can from leaked docs and tweets.

As Susan Gzesh explains it's not clear whether the agreement will ever go into effect.

But if it did, it would appear to create a dystopian scenario where the US could deport ANY asylum seekers to Guatemala, regardless of whether they'd ever been there. justsecurity.org/65203/us-guate…

The Afghan security forces have just 38 armored ambulances for 352,000 authorized personnel.
That's one ambulance for every 9,263 people.

2/ Context: Asylum seekers in Tijuana and other border towns are being "metered" by an illegal system which requires them to take numbers on a list and wait their turn (sometimes months) to lawfully enter the US to seek asylum. This is already bad enough.
