In the last year, there have been 2,687 #Ebola cases in #DRC, including 1,803 deaths in parts of Ituri & North Kivu provinces; 771 survivors and patients under care. bit.ly/2MCSRpx

#Ebola is a disease of close contact. It passes from mother to child, husband to wife, patient to caregiver, from the dead body of a victim to the mourning relative. bit.ly/2MCSRpx

#Ebola hurts local businesses, prevents children from going to school, hampers vital and routine health services. It is primarily a health crisis, but one that also critically impacts how people care for their family, view their neighbours and interact with their community.

The challenges to stopping further #Ebola transmission in #DRC are considerable but not insurmountable. The WHO and @UN and partners are continuing to ramp up the #Ebola response in support of the #DRC Government and to further bolster joint action. bit.ly/2MCSRpx
