Without even reading the article you can see the problem here. Show the EU Government is serious about no-deal. Which Parliament may scupper.

Incentive for EU to engage - nil.

We really need media to explain accurately what negotiations involve.
On media misunderstanding Brexit negotiations see also this a couple of weeks ago in the Spectator from @bbcnickrobinson - a Chief Negotiator's exact job is to manage their own side, to find out what is acceptable, which is why the UK not having one is such a problem.
@bbcnickrobinson Oops, on the first tweet am told if I'd read beyond the headline this story would say correctly the EU won't respond without knowing Parliament was supporting the PM. Whether they'll respond even then I doubt, but on this occasion mea culpa... (and @JGForsyth is usually good...)
