Requiring CRA's to track devisions in BOND spreads is a good idea. This idea, which really an acknowledgement that the BOND market may know more than the rating analysts is a good idea.

That idea can be made even better. How?
By requiring rating analysts to seek signals from the STOCK market too.

Why, you may ask, should the creditworthiness of a business be influenced by fluctuations in its stock market valuations?

Let me think out loud for a second, because I got two ideas mixed together in my head and they keep poking each other and that's usually an indicator that I should think about it. This may be nothing, but here's a "myk thinking out loud" thread about e=mc^2 and cellular automata:
When we see an expression like `e = mc^2` it's telling us that there's this relation between two quantities, `m` and `c`, such that we often refer to `mc^2` by the name `e`. Einstein of course was saying that matter and energy are related: e=energy, m=mass, c=speed of light.
When we see `c` raised to the second power, or "squared", we can understand the meaning of that expression by imagining the area of square whose sides are length `c`.

Anything ^2 can be thought of as measuring 2-dimensional area.

Hold this idea for a second, we'll be back!
