We’re seeing two highly preventable developments collide: the radicalization of young people to white supremacist ideology & the ease of getting guns suited for killing numbers of people. No more talk of being tough on crime by people who refuse to address these threats.
Fed’l law enforcement can use the same tools it developed to combat radical jihadist radicalization against white supremacist radicalization. But first, the man in in the White House has to renounce the racism he’s been spewing as well as the violence. I don’t see that happening.
And there are basic measures like registration (with sufficient ATF personnel allocated to administration & enforcement) & licensing, as well as limits on military style weapons, that sensible gun owners (I consider myself one) could support. My children matter more than my guns.
