While I appreciate the will to do something, your argument rests on the premise that “weapons of war”/“assault weapons” need to be banned yet you don’t define them, and claim the justification for doing so is that they are not in common use, which is false.
If you’re discussing full auto or select fire, they’re already NFA items.
Additionally, here is a piece from @nypost from last year that is at odds with the intimation on crime in the originally linked piece, and brings some perspective to the US vs elsewhere homicide rates nypost.com/2018/08/30/ame…
