1/ Any time a bunch of prominent “experts” in their field (in this case former Federal Reserve chairs) get together to push a cause in the mainstream media it should raise a million red flags. You can pretty much be certain that it is NOT in the best interests of the people.
2/ The reason is simple. If this was something that served the interests of the people then they wouldn’t need to try so hard to convince people of it. “Well if four former Federal Reserve chairs say it then it must be true!”.
3/ The article states “The Fed’s nonpartisan status doesn’t mean it is unaccountable. Congress sets the Fed’s powers and charges it with maximizing employment and promoting stable prices.”
4/ This is pure propaganda. If the American public knew what the Fed was really up to they would be outraged. The idea that they are accountable to Congress is a joke. Members of Congress are puppets and the Fed pulls their strings.
5/ Even if the Fed was accountable to Congress, the idea that Congress is accountable to the people is equally absurd. Congress answers to big corporations, big pharma, special interest groups, banks, etc.
6/ As far as I can tell the Federal Reserve has only been audited ONCE in its 100 year history (in 2011). If they were truly accountable to Congress then legislation to audit the Fed would pass easily.
7/ That audit showed that the Fed secretly provided over $16 trillion to bail out the banks in 2008, and where did that money ultimately go? To provide big bonuses to people like Jamie Dimon.

Who ultimately has to pick up the tab? The taxpayers.
8/ The Fed knows that people are on to them so it is hard to create a narrative to get the public on their side. That is why they push this bogus idea so hard.

“It is important the Fed remains independent.”
9/ The real reason the Fed doesn’t want to lose their independence is because they have unchecked power to print money out of nothing and distribute it to their rich and powerful friends at the expense of everyone else. I am sure most of Congress is on their payroll too.
10/ Even people like @SenWarren who claim they want to take on big banks have voted NO to audit the Federal Reserve.

Here is the list from the 2016 vote in the Senate.

11/ You can love or hate @realDonaldTrump, but he is doing the public a service by attempting to unmask and expose the Fed. Remember that they are NOT a federal agency and they do NOT hold any reserves.
