I am finally breaking my fast of Twitter with this piece of cognitive dissonance that is so pure, so pristine, it brings tears to my eyes with its illogical flavors that dance upon a tongue whose taste buds have long since been scoured away by the salt of liberal tears.
On the one hand, he calls out the NYT for not following evidence based journalism, and instead relying on preconceived narratives over a truth based on evidence.
And then he immediately calls Trump a white supremacist.

I have been disappointed, in truth, by the rote actions that I have witnessed. The commenting on events forgotten in the wake of tragedies. The lack of deeper thought processes and logic towards understanding the horror we faced. The emotionally triggered pouncing on both sides.
My observations on shootings and the patterns of reactions to those shootings have led me to one core belief, which is why I steadfastly refuse to even react for 2 or more days now.

@TheOneJohnWard To react emotionally to a crisis is... cheap. To throw out random bits of blame like you're hucking eggs at a pillory is cheap. It costs you nothing to be emotional and hyperbolic and scream in petulant rage.

@TheOneJohnWard I followed a reporter for the @dcexaminer who tweeted out that she had 'sources' saying there was a dead 2nd gunman at El Paso. I didn't react or spread it because I wanted to be sure, and sure enough, she revealed it WASNT a 2nd gunman, just a bystander, and he wasn't even dead.
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer Everyone here was a crisis actor, because to be a crisis actor is to act out a specific role in the wake of a crisis. Oftentimes, its for fundraising. While the left fundraises for gun control, the right fundraises against gun control, ultimately leaving the debate in a stalemate
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer Everyone competing for the presidency, Trump and his multitude of potential Dem opponents, all acted out their roles as well, either screaming about white supremacy like a bunch of deformed howler monkeys or A-B testing a bunch of potential solutions in one long winded statement.
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer And all of these people did what they did, reacted the way they did, ultimately because they want YOU to react. They want YOU to freak the fuck out. They want YOU to storm into your facebook discussions and twitter threads and wage unholy vicious flame wars against each other
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer No one wants you to think. They want you to emotionally react. They don't want you to wait 48 hours, its why your head was filled with white noise. They want your attention, they want you to be unable to make heads or tails of WTF was happening.
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer The minute someone like Neil deGrasse Tyson actually says something to make people think, the minute the failing NYT tries desperately to pivot to the center knowing this media construct is about to collapse in upon itself, the population primed for emotional responses attacks.
@TheOneJohnWard @dcexaminer Thinking doesn't profit any of these vulture crisis actors. You don't throw money at anti-gun Dems OR the NRA if you're thinking. You aren't paying attention to any of the news coming out about an instant tragedy in the first 48 hours if you're thinking.
