Monica Storey Brickhouse, 39, recently transferred to Dayton with the health insurance company Anthem. She was out with a coworker, Beatrice Warren-Curtis, who was also killed. Anthem’s chief executive described the women as dear friends “known for their positive energy.”
Beatrice “Nicole” Warren-Curtis, 36, was visiting her co-worker & friend, Monica Brickhouse, when she was shot & killed in Dayton. Monica also died. “She loved her family...she enjoyed traveling to watch her nephew play basketball & hanging out with her niece,” recalled a friend.
Nicholas Cumer, 25, had just five more days at his internship to complete the final requirement for his master’s degree in exercise physiology. “He really wanted to spend the rest of his life working with cancer patients,” said the program’s executive director.
Derrick Fudge, 57, spent the last day of his life with 100 members of his family at a cookout by a reservoir. Later that evening, he had gone out with his son to celebrate a friend’s birthday. His son escaped without injury.
Thomas McNichols, 25, was a father of two girls and two boys. He “loved to have fun,“ said his cousin. “He was a great father, a great brother. He was a protector. He protected his family. He protected his sisters.
Lois Oglesby, 27, was the mother of a 6-year-old daughter and a newborn baby girl. She worked at a daycare center, and grew up attending church and going to drill team.
Saeed Saleh, 38, was an immigrant from Eritrea, East Africa. He had been in the Dayton area for about three years and lived there with his wife and young daughter, while his two other children live in Eritrea with his mother.
Logan Turner, 30, worked as a machinist and had earned a reputation as one of his company’s top employees, said the company’s president. “He was quickly working his way to the top. A very positive person, with a big smile. Just a great guy.”
