Retaliatory raids have been going on for many years. But agriculture profits handsomely from this model — it makes owners very rich. It’s no accident we haven’t had comprehensive immigration reform in many years. How many industries make billions from undocumented labor?
To be undocumented in the United States is to live on a razors edge. You have little protection or legal recourse if you are harassed or hurt. But business owners don’t care. You’re replaceable, right? And if they start getting restive (read: expensive) this is what happens.
But that is once again why I reported so long on border and immigration issues from a humanitarian perspective before disinfo became too much of a problem to ignore. Workers are following market forces to grave human rights violations. They simply want to work and eat.

That's why I had it pinned for so long. I knew who they were this whole time, they haven't changed, they've just been mainstreamed. I saw all this bullshit coming and hoped what I was doing could be enough. It wasn't. And it will get worse until they are stopped.
Also, they think it had nothing to do with them, bullshit. They want this. John Tanton, who created FAIR, NumbersUSA, and CIS, was an open eugenicist. He started out as a population control advocate, but switched to immigration on the U.S.-Mexico border over concerns, I shit you

I've said it before but I was reminded again: the first rule of personal growth is that it is always going to get worse before it gets better. I've identified a behavior I want to stop, but I haven't identified the thoughts, feelings, and decisions that precede the behavior. 1/
It seems inevitable that the same (unexamined) setup occurs soon after identifying the behavior. This time, though, as soon as I do the thing again I know I messed up. This feels worse than before.
The good news is that this time I'm paying attention. I can reply the thoughts, feelings, actions, and beliefs that led to the behavior. I can set up logic to inject into the sequence for next time. But it still feels worse than before. 3/

If this world is to survive, it needs a LOT more empathy. We need to stop focusing on the things that make us different, because we all ultimately have far more in common than you think. We need to eschew the cult of personality, instead thinking and researching for ourselves.
Give our neighbor the benefit of the doubt & listen. Exchange ideas & discuss disagreements with respect & intent to learn. Put ourselves in the shoes of others & try to understand their perspectives. Know that deep down, under it all, EVERYONE just wants to be loved & happy. <3
It takes effort, I know, but it’s the most worthwhile endeavor. It will be met with opposition, and don’t let it prevent us from calling bullshit when you need to, but it’s a perspective we cannot afford to lose.

1. I've held back on writing about the wave of sexual abuse allegations. It is a highly emotionally charged issue and any treatment of it runs the risk of causing pain. But, as I watch the #MeToo movement used as a political football, I feel it's time to navigate the subject.
2. It's my intention to find the balance of compassion and pragmatism and to highlight the nuance of the phenomenon, as the value of this time in history risks damage from partisan politics and labels of hysteria.
3. Why this is happening now is a direct response to the election of DT - a man accused of sexual assault 16 times, with a long history of publicly demeaning women and well-publicized audio detailing sexual assault in his own words.
