Kashmir was likely to be rooted ultimately, but manner in which it got eradicated especially after illegitimate house arrest and violence, questions a lot about the supposed democracy of India.
This art shld have been automatically lapsed rather than using a muscular force of eradictating it. Kashmir should have been made developed so that the kashmiris consider living in Ind as literally beneficial & eventually the existence of this bill would have been made primitive.
Radical changes in a democracy must come through debate, discussion& dissent, which will lead to consensus.Modi gov shld have tabled the bill at the beginning of the session, made it public that this is what it wants to do, listened to all voices,& then moved ahead with its plan.
For its detractors, Article 370 is a hindrance to beneficial legislations like the Right to Education, which are not automatically applicable to J&K. This is a fallacious argument; all these can be easily extended as other laws have been over time.
The manner in which the BJP government has changed the status of Jammu and Kashmir by rendering Article 370 ineffective and bifurcating the state is revealing its true character. This is a state for whom the only currency that matters is raw power.
This is a state that recognises no constraints of law, liberty and morality. This is a state that will make a mockery of democracy and deliberation, whose psychological principle is fear that will make ordinary citizens cannon fodder for its warped nationalist pretensions.

Similiar contradictions can be made with demonitization which we assumed a master stroke but turned out to be a disaster. It was the care and humility kashmir needed rather than muscular attitude.
