@nytimes It's hard to put into words how constantly and blatantly the pro-Bolsonaro YouTube channels traffic in wholesale fabrications, which then proliferate through WhatsApp. As someone who's been their target for 3 months, its detachment from reality can't be overstated. And yet: 
@nytimes I'm a fan of how social media has made our discourse more egalitarian, deprived the elite & oligarchical class of its monopoly over ideas. I'm still vehemently opposed to censoring it. But the trash and filth it empowers is the cost. Bolsonaro won with Fake News on YT & WhatsApp:
