There isn’t a term or phraseology that won’t provoke defensive anger from ppl who’ve been steeped in a culture that teaches them institutionalized racism is a figment of non-White ppl’s imagination. Defensiveness is inevitable because fragility, repressed guilt & denial are too.

@jashtonhill Beyond all of the above, the defensive anger you’re describing is meant to end the conversation and prevent further direct confrontation of racism and implicit bias. It’s still a centering of Whiteness and an escape hatch.
