Can anyone see the problem?🤔
When you are neither willing to solve the biggest peacetime problem the UK had ever faced, nor willing to get out of the way so that others have a decent chance of fixing it, *you* are the problem.
And here's Jo Swinson confirming she's willing to work with Tom Watson.
"Both McDonnell, and the shadow business secretary, Rebecca Long-Bailey, said on Tuesday night they would reject any opportunity to form a cross-party unity government led by anyone other than Corbyn."

So in summary:
1) JC and key front bench MPs will *only* back a GNU that is led by Corbyn. They would rather a GE than any other form of GNU.

2) Not enough MPs from other parties trust Corbyn (seeing him as a Brexiter). They'll work with Labour on a GNU, but not under him.
And even now at this late hour, JC still won't support a second referendum in all circumstances, and won't commit Labour to backing remain in all circumstances.

No wonder MPs *actually trying to stop Brexit* don't trust him!
There may be a majority in the Commons for a viable GNU. But moderate Tories just won't back Corbyn if he insists on leading it. There's no way they'll swallow a pill that bitter. And that's even *if* other MPs trusted Corbyn. Which they don't.

GNU route is likely to go nowhere.
Instead, we'll get a GE. And Corbyn will lose that. Badly. Our only hope is that the Brexit Party stays strong enough to deny Boris Johnson an overall majority. And that's a really weird thing to have to hope for! But it achieves nothing to deny the reality we face.
Clive Lewis: "A no deal BJ cobbled together Brexit, you can see quite clearly that we're against that, and we are campaigning for Remain. But there is a situation where if there is a Labour government there are questions about whether we would actually try to renegotiate Brexit."
He was speaking on Newsnight this evening. Summarises exactly why MPs of other parties don't trust Jeremy Corbyn.
Or put a different way: "We hate the Tories more than we love Brexit. But we don't mind Brexit."

Labour is not a party of Remain. It's a party, at best, of trying to derail a Tory Brexit. That may align very usefully with Remain, but it's not the same as *being* Remain.
Tories can back a GNU because of the U.

They can't back a minority Labour government because it's Labour.

This is basic political calculus. So basic, Corbyn *must* realise that.

A GNU with Corbyn sidelined is clearly a GNU. Gives Tories the necessary cover to vote for it.
John McDonnell: "I think we'd form a minority government, seek to implement our manifesto and we'd expect the other opposition parties and other MPs to vote for those policies and if they don't we'll go back to the country." No GNU from Lab front bench.

And finally finally, Labour had 2 open goal chances to stop no deal. They flubbed both of them because of Labour abstentions. So don't you dare say "Labour has done everything they can to stop no deal" because it's simply not true.
