FFS. Can someone please contact the folks at PBS and give them a tutorial on the Overton Window?

What part of the word "public" is incomprehensible to the people at "Public Broadcasting?" How can you give a platform to someone who believes that a large swath of the people who comprise the American public (and whose tax money is paying his salary) are a danger to the country?
And Pat thinks they are a "danger to the country" not because of the politics they espouse, but because of the language that they speak, or the faith they pursue (or don't pursue), or who they choose to sleep with.
Some folks have balked at my use of the term "Overton window." I find it to be a useful shorthand for a fairly straightforward dynamic. It's explained well in this thread from 2016.
And here's my run at explicating and justifying the usefulness of the concept in 2018.
And for those who would claim that PBS is just continuing what they've been doing...that is not true. The last time PBS aired the McLaughlin group it was August 2016. Since then it has been periodically revived by Sinclair Broadcasting, a right wing media outlet.
So if PBS puts Buchanan on the air with the McLaughlin Group in September 2019, it will be the first time PUBLIC broadcasting has done so since before the 2016 election.
