I don't think most people understand the dailiness of #gunviolence in America. This incident happened within less than a mile of our house. There have been three men shot to death in front of our house in the past 4yrs as I've recorded in real time on here. That's madness.

The good news about the #PhillyShooting is no one was killed. Women and kids were extricated safely. The 6 cops had minor gunshots wounds, the hostages were safely extricated and the shooter was unharmed. That's all amazing. But the shooter fired hundreds of rounds over 8hrs.

This is another story of civilians with arsenals of weapons. That should be illegal. The cop who was shot in the head missed death by a literal inch. He has two small kids. In the #ElPasoShooting and #DaytonShooting more than a dozen kids were left motherless, some newborns.

I wrote about Philly's #GunViolence problem last week. Philadelphia had more shootings and gun deaths last year than NYC and LA, yet is the 5th largest city, not 1st and 2nd. The problem is guns. And we have to address that #fact to staunch the killing.
