#IndianNavy has ambitious plan to have the one of the best submarine force in Asia , and rapid manufacturing , fast negotiation and allocation of needed financial support will make it successful easily, even with correct procurement it will become the best in Asia .
India's current plan (rectify if wrong) of future submarine fleet...

6 P-75 SSK
6 P-75I SSK
12 P-76 SSK
6 SSN
5 SSBN
1 leased Akula

Total 36

#IndianNavy
Kalvari Class, the Made in India , Scorpene Class submarine is being manufactured under P-75 . 6 will be manufactured, but IMO it will not be a wise decision to stop production just after six, instead at least three more Kalvaris should be manufactured.

#IndianNavy
Total 9 (at least) not will just act as force multiplier but also continuing production lead us to closer to betterment of our own knowledge and experience . The entire Kalvari fleet can be deployed as #Pakistan specific hunter platform.
And for China? P-75I !
Explaining.
Kalvari Class Submarine

Displacement: 1775 T (sbmrg)
Length: 62.5 m
Speed: 37 kmph (sbmrg)
Edurance: 50-52 days
Armaments:
6*3 = 533 mm Heavy Torpedos Currently with SUT just 28 km,
Exocet SM 39 - 50 km.
Mines
However , in future, Kalvari Class submarines are likely to get these two systems replacing SUT and SM 39 Exocet.

1) F-21 Heavy Torpedos with a range of ~57 km and
2) BrahMos NG submarine launched version which can be launched from torpedo tubes too, with a range of min 300 km
Six Kalvari Class submarines are being manufactured under P-75. But three more should be ordered . This will take the total no of such platforms to 9 , which can take care of our interest in west seas. Kalvaris are one of the best SSKs in the world.
There is at least one source which mention that there existed a concept where Scorpene Class submarines could be fitted with 10 vertical launch cells i.e 10 BrahMos . However, still now we see no further work on it.
A potential French candidate for P-75I is SMX Ocean , the best in SMX series. It has a range of 29000 km comparing to just 12000 km of Kalvari Class! It can fire anti Ship, anti Submarine, anti Surface even anti Air weapons and can launch both UUV and UAVs!!
#IndianNavy
SMX Ocean
Length: 100 m
Surface displacement: 5750 T
Maximum diving depth: 350 m
Maximum speed, submerged: 20 kts
Endurance: 90 days
Underwater endurance: 21 days , same as Kalvari, MESMA AIP
Weapons: total 34 including Torpedos, tube launched & VLS missiles
Can deploy SF mission
Shortfin Barracuda , conventionally powered version of Suffren Class

Length: 97 m
Surface displacement: 4500 T
Speed: 37 kmph
Range: 33000 km
Endurance: 80 days
Weapons: 28 including Torpedos, mines or cruise missiles
Afaik no VLS in this.

In Australia known as Attack Class
MBDA MdCN (Naval Cruise Missile) will be the game changer in this category subs. With a range of more than 1000 km they can take out even strategic targets with out being exposed to enemy stand off weapons. And yes, it can be launched from Scorpene Class too.
The third alternative for P-75I may be the A-26 Oceanic ER.
Length: >80 mtrs
Displacement: >3000 T surfaced
Range: 18520 km
Endurance: >50 days
Weapons: At least 15 torpedoes or mines (as in basic A-26 version) + 18 VLS missiles

#IndianNavy
A-26 has a 6mx1.5m multimission portal flexible payload lock system . The lock system makes it easy for SF to enter and exit the sub in case of ops. The lick system is large enough to allow the launch and retrieval of UUVs too !
As I said, A-26 Oceanic ER has 3 VLS cells with 18 tubes to launch 18 missiles. We can fit them with long range cruise missiles .

Torpedo launched + VLS launched Anti Ship/Land Attack cruise missiles will be game changer in region.
*lock
So, three best submarines for #IndianNavy's P-75I project are...

SMX Ocean
Attack Class
A-26 Ocean ER

IMO, no other conventional powered sub can challenge them up to such level
Now comes with another contender. Russian one. Amur Class . In this Amur 1650 is offered.

Amur 1650

Displacement: 1650 T surfaced
Length: 66.7 m
Range: 6000 km
Endurance: 45 days

Clearly, this is no match for SMX Ocean, Attack or A-26 Ocean ER.
Now, Amur is the export version of Lada Class.

Displacement: 2700 T submarged
Length: 72 m
Endurance: 45 days
Speed: 39 kmph max
Weapons : It carries 18 torpedos/mines/anti sub missiles and 10 anti ship cruise missiles (Kalibr) .
Amur 950 shows it can carry 10 BrahMos in VLS . So we can assume , same can be done with Amur 1650 too. So we can assume , along with 10 tube launched missiles 10 VLS also can be carried.
In my opinion, if Kalvari Class is modernised with VLS and indigenous AIP, it will be better than modernised (i.e with VLS) Amur 1650. Amur 1650 is not at all a P-75I material.

Irony, once Soviet Kilo Class was the best SSK in the world but now no where in the list of bests.
In future we will get Project 76 SSK Submarines . Expected 12 will be made. It will be completely indigenous, and will be developed after studying and gaining experience from P-75 and P-75I. I believe, experience from SSBN and SSN too will help #IndianNavy in this case
Redundant to say P-76 will have excellent underwater endurance, may be 90 days! We can make it, we have time for it. And indiggenous torpedoes will not be the problem. IMO VLS will have 800 km range BrahMos, possibly Hypersonic BrahMos too & definitely 2000+ km Nirbhay
To understand the possible hull capability, here is a graphics from @CovertShores ,of SMX Electric.
Earlier I discussed on SMX Ocean too. Definitely, stealth will be the future. Not necessarily same design .
Now come to our SSBNs.
Nothing much to say in this case. Very very sensitive. Very very less infos are available in public platforms. So , in a nutshell, here is a graphics from LiveFist. Forget how many nukes will they carry, this is just the beginning. A long path to go .
#IndianNavy will have six SSN soon and they will be in services even before P-76. This will give Indian Navy the capability to keep an eye on potential naval threats .
According to a latest report, #France has offered India help in SSN project. However, Suffren Class is not mentioned as the class where they will help, means officially it is not claimed Indian version of Suffren will be made, but they will help.
Remember one thing, French Suffren is far smaller than Russian Yasen or US Virgina Class SSN. Both these are enermous , made to hide in very very deep of the ocean and have 10-12 VLS , capable of carrying huge ammunitions . Neither India can make one nor can afford them.
However, #IndianNavy will get an Akula Class Sub in lease from Russia. Third leased SSN.
Displacement: 13800 T sbmrg
Length: 113m+
Speed: 65 kmph max

Definitely, the third Chakra will get much improvement . We can hope it will carry 500 km range torpedo tube launched BrahMos .
So future strength of #IndianNavy Submarine fleet

Min

P-75: 6
P-75I: 6
P-76: 12
SSBN: 1+1+2+1
SSN: 6
Lease: 1

Total- 35+1

Possible (in high optimistic case)

P-75: 9
P-75I: 6
P-76: 12
SSBN: 1+1+2+2
SSN: 6
Lease: 2

Total: 39+2

What we do need is rapid production
Now here comes the question , can 36 Submarines serve our interests well? Can these 36 can be deployed simultaneously to deter both the Pakistan and China as well as can be deployed to patrol in seas of our interest ?
What you do think? And how the deployment can work ?
So we have three main targets...

1) neutralising threats from Pakistan
2) neutralising threats from China
and
3) maintain our patrolling areas of our interest
This is how we can achieve all three even in face of multi directional threat ...
Condition: All projects are completed

Pakistan is not a big threat even in future. All six Kalvari subs+ 3 P-76+ Chakra 3 and 2-3 SSBN can keep Pak at bay
and take care of Western theatre
On the other hand to confront China we will get

All six P-75I
9 P-76
6 SSN
2-3 SSBN (S-4, S-4*, S-5)

They can take care of Eastern Sea Theatre , all sensitive Straits and South China Sea
Now, in highest optimistic case we can get
3 more Kalvaris
1 more S-5 SSBN and
1 more Akula

In that case entire Kalvari fleet can be deployed to confront Pak without asking for P-76 which entirely can concentrate on East. Additional Akula obviously will going to help.
If more than one S-5 enters services then S-3, S-4 and S-4* can hold Pakistan and both S-5 can neutralise threat from China. Long range missiles like K-4 and K-5 will do the job (ignoring K-15 ).
And, yes, to neutralise enemy sub fleet our biggest asset will be these...the more we get them the better we will be
It is obvious that if we get 5 more subs than currently planned then it's without any hesitation can confront multi directional threat. But if that doesn't happen, little disadvantages for us.
This is how I do think future Indian Submarine Fleet can serve our nation in case of multi directional threats. That is during the "Hot" time. Obviously situation will be never like that. In peace time , our subs without hesitation can patrol the seas of our interest.
Most important thing we need at this time is

2) Rapid manufacture
2) Fast negotiation
3) allocation of needed financial support and
4) Correct procurement .

If these projects are completed in time then and only then we will be able to face multi directional threats.
