So the new #BrexitDiagram is ready (V12) - updated in light of this morning's shenanigans about prorogation until 14 October

The impact? Makes a General Election a little more likely, and also more routes point to a VONC around 14/15 October
Note that choosing 14 October (rather than say 1 November) as date for Queen's Speech is significant - it means there is still some room for Parliament to stop No Deal after the prorogation

OK, so my effort to work out where Tory MPs stand on prorogation and stopping No Deal by legislative means has now got a bit complex
There are two threads

One lists quotes of MPs on the record saying they are opposed to prorogation (15 MPs cited currently)


The second debates which MPs might switch to that position
Each of these has accompanying Twitter lists

If there is to be a way to stop No Deal Brexit by legislative means next week, it is Conservative MPs putting the future of the UK (and its representative democracy) above their own futures that are going to have to do it

Reflections on today's events
1. The issue of proroguing Parliament transcends the Brexit debate. I am not a Remainer - nor a Brexiter (Eurosceptic however) - but the fundamental operational principle of our democracy is parliamentary sovereignty which is about to be suspended.
2. The fact that @BorisJohnson is unelected and that the role of the monarchy aside, proroguing Parliament for political ends (essentially a strategic filibuster) sets a constitutional precedent which would allow future prime ministers the same exercise of power arbitrarily.

Use Brexit to get in Downing Street, and once there, abandon it.
