Is there any difference between accusing someone of having "spiritual rabies" and calling someone a "dog" or "horseface"? I sure don't see any. No wonder @IamRickJoyner likes @realDonaldTrump. They're of a piece with each other.
I've had reservations about Joyner for some time, but saying @IamToddBentley's accusers are like dogs with rabies is probably the worst.
I repeat--even if this is a nothing burger, you do not use this kind of language about people who claim to have been molested or assaulted. Ever.
I'm saying this to myself as much as anyone. I've been wronged by a number of no-good women in my time, but I would NEVER use this kind of language about them.
For instance, when a woman I took out once told me she still saw me as someone's husband, it was the most hurtful thing I've heard from a woman since my divorce.
And yet, it took me awhile to be able to write about it, because as angry as I was, I was going to say something that would have made me sound like Trump.
Even if Bentley's accusers are making this up, accusing them of having rabies crosses a bright line. This is worse than any of Joyner's pro-Trump tirades.
If this is how Joyner handles accusations of inappropriate behavior, maybe he shouldn't be in a pulpit.
