THREAD: @VP Mike Pence is again calling for Red Flag Gun Grabs, citing that Indiana’s gun confiscation law could be a model for the country. THIS IS DANGEROUS. fox59.com/2019/08/28/pen…
In every Gun Confiscation Order bill that GOA has examined -- including Indiana's -- due process is thrashed by allowing for ex parte hearings, meaning the accused isn’t present while the judge is hearing the case.
And judges rarely toss out cases when only the accuser is present, which has led to a HIGH percentage of mistakes.
And besides the obvious constitutional concerns, these gun confiscation orders aren’t needed. Since the El Paso and Dayton shootings, dozens of people have been arrested for threatening to commit mass attacks.
Many of these arrests were in states like Florida and California where there are “red flag” gun confiscation orders, but those laws were not used.
We don’t need new gun laws. The police already have enough tools at their disposal. Police can and do arrest potential mass public terrorists.
So @mike_pence, we understand the urge to #DoSomething. But your state’s tyrannical gun grab is a horrible model for our country. Instead, let’s expand firearm freedom by passing Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity and repealing gun-free zones.
