Last year, the White House said President Trump had directed DOJ and ODNI to declassify parts of the Carter Page FISA application. But it turns out the White House turned around and told the agencies that he president hadn't actually done that.

The filing includes a declaration from a top Justice official saying that "DOJ did not receive at any time a declassification order," that officials asked the White House what it was all about and were told there was no such order.

The Trump administration told a federal court today that House can't use the courts to enforce its subpoenas, in this case for President Trump's tax returns. Instead, it says that if Congress wants to make the administration comply, it should ask DOJ to file contempt charges.

DOJ says only the executive branch can decide whether to go to court to enforce Congressional subpoenas served on the executive branch.

President Trump's lawyer just told a federal appeals court that Congress doesn't have the power to investigate whether the president engaged in money laundering.
Trump's lawyer, Patrick Strawbridge, says trying to determine whether the president engaged in money laundering is "law enforcement," and therefore the purview of the executive branch.
So far, judges have not appeared particularly receptive to this argument.
