So my earlier tweet kind of blew up.
I need to address a common response, "but he was suicidal, we should just let him keep his guns?".

Answer. Yes.

Let me explain...
Let's imagine you have an elderly parent, eyesight going, signs of moderate age-relates dementia.

So their kid calls the police and says "my Dad is losing his mind, hes dangerous and shouldnt be driving."
So the son says "I want you to take his car so he can't drive anymore."

Then the cops, with no legal authority, confiscate the Dads car that is owned and paid for by him.

Then they take this driver's license from him.

He's never been in an accident, no ticket, perfect record.
The police, based on nothing more than the word of one person, have confiscated personal property with no warrant, no crime committed, no illegal acts, and no due process.

Then they tell the family they can petition to get the car back, but the family doesnt want it.
So the car becomes police property and is put up for auction.

Explain to me how this is not a gross infringement on the rights of this man?
Explain to me how you believe that the power and force of government should be used to deprive someone of their property when they have committed no offense at all.

Explain how this is not a gross violation of his 4th, 5th and 14th Amendment.
Our Constitution was created to protect and preserve life, liberty, and property.

The cornerstones of a free society, without which such a society can not exist.
I am not willing to undermine the brilliant work and dedication of our founding fathers in creating a tyranny-proof government just because your feelings have overtaken your common sense.
