It's that time of year, and the whining of the children has begun.
"My taxes are higher! I'm paying more! Thanks Drumpf. Harumph, harumph, harumph."

Seems I'm on a roll lately. So another, slightly less cuss-filled, rant commencing...
Without SALT deductions, you're finally feeling the burden of your local/state taxes.
Which until now you have blithely shrugged off because you knew you would get reimbursed from the federal government (AKA the American taxpayer).
So much for paying your "fair share" (you libs do love that term) of federal taxes.
For decades, as your representatives have increased your state tax burden, you've been able to offset those exorbitant taxes (that only benefit your state) by reducing the amount you pay in federal taxes (that benefit the whole country).
In other words, the rest of the country is funding your state and all their little feel-good, do-nothing, socialist projects.
For you libs and progs out there who have complained, bitched, that taxes aren't high enough. I don't want to hear a damn thing from you and your nimby-ass, "fine for thee, but not for me" attitude.
You don't like the hit you're taking now?
Then start looking critically at how your money is being spent locally and statewide.
After you're done picking up the pieces of your brain after it explodes all over the walls from righteous anger, start re-examining your beliefs about how benevolent, caring and responsible government is with your money.
It isn't Trump that's to blame.
The only thing he did was shine a frickin' lazer beam on the inequality your state has created through punitive state taxes. Now you are finally seeing it, and feeling it. That's what hurts.
You're finally feeling the actual burden that your state, your representatives have inflicted on you so they can pay for failed social project, after failed social project, all the while demanding more from you because IT IS NEVER ENOUGH TO FEED THE BEAST.
I suppose the thing I find most ironic about all of this, is how most of you are completely and wholly anti-states rights.
You love big daddy government like a coke addict loves his dealer.
Yet you have been stripping the coffers of the federal government you love so much, in order to stuff the coffers of the state governments you have such disdain for.
The top 10 states thats suck off the federal tit to get reimbursement for their state taxes are (*puts on shocked face*) the richest states in the country and bluer than my HS prom dates balls (sorry, Chris).
So if you're one of those people flailing around saying you got f*cked by Trump and the GOP...

No, you didn't.
Oh you got f*cked alright. Hard. BY YOUR OWN STATE. For years as they kept taking more from your wallet to fund their pet social experiments.

Only difference this year is that without the SALT deduction, you got the lube and the courtesy reach around taken away.
Suddenly, paying your "fair share" isn't as painless anymore.

The question is, are you going to keep blaming the people who actually pointed out that you've been getting screwed, or are you going to to blame the people who've actually been doing the screwing?
