Jay Z really blamed the murders of Black people by police on the anger Black youth have for growing up in a house without their fathers.

I honestly can’t believe I just watched him say that. I’m speechless.

Chess is a really stupid game.
Homes led by single Black mothers aren't the root of our problems. White supremacy is.

Black people aren't killed by police because we have issues with authority. We're killed by police because police know they can kill us and get away with it.

Put that on a tshirt and sell it.
I think, in years to come (maybe sooner), Jay will say he messed this entire thing up. Because he did. He should have talked to Kaep first. He should NOT have said we were past kneeling.
He could've rolled something more substantive than a tshirt and concert out. And he should have not said Black kids' issue with authority leads to their murders by police. You can love Jay (as I do) and still say he didn't do this right (because he didn't).
This isn't 1965 anymore. We have more than the Moynihan Report to frame our conversation about Black families.
- Black fathers still spend more time with their children than fathers of any other demographic even when they are not married to the mother and live in the primary homes with their children.
- Regardless of socioeconomic and family status, all Black children have the same understanding of police as authority and treat them as such when stopped *because they know the interaction could potentially lead to their deaths.
- Regardless of the race of the officer, police consistently say they instantly recognize Black youth as the aggressor/more violent in a confrontation- even when the Black kids are actually the victims.
The data is out there and guess who's been using it to inform their work? Activists/community organizers on the ground!

...but when they said they had issues with the deal, yall called them Blue Check Twitter, told them to shut up and said they ain't in the community for real.
