Sunday musing... Boris Johnson is a Prime Minister without any Parliamentary power. Everything he is doing is via loopholes because he doesn't command a majority. So imagine this (not a realistic scenario at all, just amusing myself):
1. Parliament passes a binding law forcing him to extend Article 50 for a long time (1-2 years)
2. The EU agrees
3. Brexit is moved off
4. Boris Johnson prorogues Parliament for a sensibly short period to start a new session
5. Tries to pass a Queen's Speech. Fails.

6. Calls a General Election. Doesn't get 2/3 majority of MPs. Fails.
7. Tries a VONC as a backdoor route to a GE. MPs VOC Boris Johnson right back in.
8. At this point, Boris Johnson is totally stuck. He can't go ahead with Brexit. He can't do anything new (no Queen's Speech).

He can't pass the buck to any other party, because MPs have superglued him in place. He would be the lamest of lame-duck Prime Ministers in the history of the UK. No power to do anything, and no power to change things so that he can do anything.
MPs could then ignore him and work together to do whatever needed doing. Votes could be won cross-house for legislation of their choosing. And all Boris Johnson squatting in Number 10 could do is watch with impotent fury. (Told you it wasn't realistic. Have a great day!)
