Some people got a bit dissapointed because #JointFutures wasn’t all practical “let’s redesign this website” stuff. Instead it’s food for thought, as designers our biggest asset is how we think, because that is ultimately how we design

Hey! That’s me in the picture! 👋🏻
Neglecting the impact of what we ship is destroying by design, and this has many faces and levels. @kimgoodwin pointed out that we are not auditing enough the projects we work on. Can we do it? Yes. Should we do it? Maybe. What’s the potential risk? Huh!
@priyascape reminded us to stop focusing on creating tools to solve the problems, but to actually go and solve them for real.

And to kill the double diamond
@elou showed us how much growth is related to culture
@TatianaTMac hän (Finnish pronoun not tied to any gender see link) is food for thought.
And that facial expression says it all

Its was such a pleasure to meet you and exchange thoughts, oh, and thanks for the cup

@leyla_nasib @IreneLeino I’m not in the child presented products industry. But your talk inspired us to be aware of the damage we can produce when we could be teaching values like inclusivity or protection with the example of @tocaboca and @LEGO_Group
@next_roy KaiOS and to be mindful of the scarcity of “basic” resources
I tweeted a bunch of things about @monteiro ‘s talk this morning. What I take is that his statements opened discussions everywhere
Frameworks and technologies change, and our systems must be able to keep up, otherwise they serve no good @Una (btw crazy nice twitter handle) explained to us how Material Design is built for scale and expression
@eduardoortiz opened his playbook of @andprtnrs for us. My best takes, always ask what the end goal of the project is, never put your team at risk by ignoring what can happen and don’t stop pushing for what you believe is right
@MrStickdorn hilarious talk, #ShittyFirstDraft and there’s no one single correct process. Tweak it, find what works the best for the project and the people working on it

Design things that:
Are pretty ❌
Work ❌
Are good ✅
Another amazing person I had the opportunity to exchange words with. You are hilarious, but your also smart. And you rewrote your talk last minute because you felt the need to express what you experienced

@chrismessina
@jcoronado1 how design powers business and business’ decisions
The dean of the design faculty of @OCAD taught us how to embrace diversity and to learn from it. Decolonize design. Avoid misappropriation by asking before doing it, giving proper credit and not misusing sacred symbols

@Dori_Danthro
@jina & @daveixd thanks for being the great hosts you have been

Also can’t wait for tomorrow’s workshop with Jina, so excited
The whole experience, the friendly environment, the food, the party, the venue, the coffee, the goodies that do good (like the recycled textures bags), the volunteers always there to help and assist with anything

Just thank you #JointFutures @jointfutures
