With recent events in Westminster, talks of another #Brexit delay have come back. Both UK and EU27 have to unanimously agree to another extension.

What is being said about this in the EU?

1. The EU Commission President-Elect @vonderleyen takes office on 1 Nov. She previously said she would be open to another delay "for a good reason."

2. An EU source quoted by AFP says if delay comes from a new political situation like elections, or if it's for renegotiating on a new basis which fits the EU's principles, it is likely to be accepted.

3. Co-president of the European Greens, Philippe Lamberts MEP, said, "Do the 27 heads of state and govt really want to take responsibility of No Deal? I don't think so."

4. French EU affairs minister Amélie de Montchalin said another 3 months would "not solve the problem" if the UK doesn't know what it wants.

5. My impression is:
- As in March & April, EU27 want to avoid No Deal.
- But fears of whether another extension will be useful.
If #GeneralElection in Oct, will depend on the result.
If in Nov, will it change anything? What if there is another hung Parliament?

6/6. - Institutional questions: UK MEPs are elected but what about UK Commissioner, which new Gt has not nominated? How can the new Commission function?

Finally, I think it's early to speculate on length of extension that EU could ask for, but could be longer than 3 months.
