I'm on the wing of Labour that if conditons are met wants a snap election on 15/10... here are the conditions 1/ Royal Assent for the Benn Bill ...
2/ Johnson writes a letter to Barnier requesting an A50 extension on Monday night in line with the law... 3/ Cancel the £100m govt propaganda campaign for No Deal ...
4/ Sedwill to confirm in writing an unchangeable date for the election 5/ All UK officials withdrawn from EU since Johnson arrived to be reinstated...
6/ All documents relating to the prorogation of Parliament to be published; Protogation to be cancelled... and the big one....
6/ Since there is no majority for the govt it should hand interim talks with EU to a Parliamentary Commission headed by @hilarybennmp - ie remove the executive from the talks....
7/ If Johnson/Mogg try a one-liner we should agree it with the amendment of votes at 16...
In summary I just don't think MPs understand how much power they were handed by the Chief Clown when he pulled this coup and failed.

2/ Like all alt-right driven movements, the online space gives rabid No Dealers the false illusion that everyone agrees with them. Despite that, they are not vocal in public space right now - in part because the Lexiteers call for resistance has drawn a class line through Leave
3/ The atmosphere of crisis almost never translates to the doorstep. Its one thing to hold an election amid food shortages and with an imminent deadline... but on the doorstep local stuff always matters, esp if Parliament insists on a delay to A50 before dissolution...

2/ Talk about what's happening at work. The anger is deep - much deeper than Cummings etc calculated... break the taboo on talking politics at work... it usually takes 3 days for the whole population to realise something big is happening...
3/ You didn't see this on the media... but Labour, Green and Libdem politicians joined our invasion of the space around parliament. We need to give them the confidence to break down all the barriers to joint resistance

A short thread on what the Benn Bill, if enacted, will *not* do.

Many journalists have repeatedly indicated that the Bill will take no deal "off the table", or that it will "legally block" no deal.

But that isn't right. /1
As currently drafted, the Bill requires the Prime Minister to request a three-month Article 50 extension from the European Council.

But unless the Council unanimously agrees to extend Article 50, the 31 Oct deadline remains, and the UK exits on that date, deal or no deal. /2
This is important, including with reference to the Government's wish to hold a general election.

If those opposed to no deal want to rule out triggering a general election while no deal remains a possibility, simply getting the Benn Bill enacted is not enough. /3

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.
