My photos from today’s #LesbianStrengthMarch are awesome. The organising team, @LeedsReSisters have done a fantastic job #LesbianStrength
So many incredible women, all united to fight for #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
The banners have been amazing #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
Fantastic day: the crowd of lesbians marched through Leeds, with huge support from ordinary people en route #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
Counter-protesters marched behind us, but we weren’t concerned. The pictures tell the whole story! #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch

I’ve seen some estimates of our march (30 lesbians, according to some!) but handily, some counter-protesters filmed us, so you can count for yourself! #LesbianStrength
#LesbianStrengthMarch

May I just add that this banner, from a painting by @JoolzDenby, is amazing. @StrengthLesbian are selling Black T-Shirts with this image on, too #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
I was too tired to complete my thread last night... the rest of my photos are incoming! #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
On the March, which was well stewarded by the organisers in liaison with the police, who took our safety seriously and kept the protesters away from us. Thank you, @WestYorksPolice #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
Counter-protesters walked behind us, and I couldn’t hear them, from where I was. (Photo from @learners) We also passed a group of protesters located at the entrance to the gay quarter (men highlighted in yellow) #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
When we got to Millenium Square, it was set up with rows of chairs: and there was a BSL interpreter , too! Thank you to the organisers for considering the needs of the Marchers! So rare for events to do this. It matters. #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
The speakers and entertainers were awesome. We heard from young lesbians, detransitioned women, @BoudiccaRises @drlouisejmoody @satiricole: and many who aren’t on Twitter!
Of course, @MagdalenBerns was front and centre for the entire March, and we were urged by @satiricole to be brave, in her memory #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
The band entertained us with songs and we heard poetry too: a glimpse of a Lesbian Culture that doesn’t exist, in the mainstream. It is no longer found in LGBT spaces: we need to create lesbian-only spaces to see the magic happen! #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
Then, official event over, we went to a pub for a fabulous veggie/vegan buffet: there were so many of us, they ran out of plates! There’s @doodleswoo, guarding the falafels #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch
The rest of the evening was a private event, so I didn’t take any photos! It was such an incredible atmosphere. If you ever get the chance to be in women-only spaces, do it. It changes us #LesbianStrength #LesbianStrengthMarch (photo by Mark Bettney Photos)
