To those asking how I got my passport in 48 hours.

Learn how to go about it before complaining as I did.

I first approached the passport office on Thursday, August 29th. For those of you saying you were told that there is no booklet at your respective passport office

I experienced the same situation on my first visit on Thursday (29th Aug) afternoon. The officer told me that booklets will be available after two weeks.

The officer then informed me that in addition to the two weeks, there is an additional two weeks for the passport to be processed. The officer further reiterated that special circumstances can be considered. He advised that I should see the PCO

Upon hearing this the Nigerian in me kicked in and I immediately assumed the worst. See PCO ke Abeg I no get bribe money jo My mind told me I got frustrated and went back home. I should have seen the PCO first When I eventually did she was very professional

Upon getting home, I saw a news story report about a directive from Gov Omolouabi @raufaregbesola instructing the @nigimmigration offices to issues passport within two days.

Out of frustration with my experience at the passport office, I reached out to the minister via the quoted tweet

I got a response with instructions on what to do. After clearing out the confusion,

I was asked to visit the immigration website at

immigration.gov.ng

Fill out the passport renewal form online, pay online and follow the directions.

Part of the direction was to print out the form and submit it at the passport office. I had some issues with the form that I printed.

I contactd d minister again n he directd me to the servicom desk of the immigration He assured me that it will be taken care of It was promptly taken care of by the officas at the Servicom office locatd inside the passport office of the immigration on Tuesday

Submitting the application online is only a start but a really good start. I had to visit the immigration office as advice to complete the process.

After this process, it took less than 48 hours to receive my passport at a total cost of ₦17800

In all of this, I am happy that for the first time I processed my passport by myself without the help of a tout. This is how it is supposed to be
