The World Trade Center finished in 1973 (left) and the new Freedom Tower finished in 2013 (right)

A thread of a few pictures from my visit to the 9/11 Memorial in NYC (I’d never been to it since its completion and since the construction of One World Trade Center had finished)
The names of Ric Rescorla (who gave his life guiding hundreds of people out), Father Mychal Judge (killed praying over rescuers), John O’Neill (a former top FBI official who gave his life evacuating people), & Welles Crowther (“the man in the red bandana” who died saving people)
Some of the heroes of Flight 93 — Todd Beamer (“Are you ready? Okay. Let’s roll.”), Thomas Burnett (“Don’t worry. We’re going to do something.”), Mark Bingham (“This is Mark. I want to let you guys know that I love you.”), & Jeremy Logan Glick (“We’re gonna rush the hijackers.”)
There were a number of expecting mothers who were killed on 9/11, and the NYC Memorial commemorates them as well as their unborn children.
