VA Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax is suing CBS for defamation in broadcast interviews with Fairfax's sexual assault accusers.

This has an interesting twist. Fairfax says he can show actual malice because he has a friend at CBS who is an associate general counsel who had knowledge of falsity *because they're friends who talked about it.*
In Fairfax's version, one of the sexual encounters was consensual and had an eyewitness because they did it with the eyewitness in the room.

(I get that this happens in dorms/frat houses. Still. Ugh.)

Of note the eyewitness knows the CBS AGC.
