@WEAYL @rolandmcs @RichardAENorth I was always wondering about EEA/EFTA proponents. I do think they're somewhat pragmatic, but large parts of European integration (including European law) didn't develop by design but b/c by necessity. Areas as e.g. finance or regulations on refrigerators're inherently political.
@WEAYL @rolandmcs @RichardAENorth Just e.g. have a look on environmental laws. There is a reason why a large body on literature on spill over effects exists. You can't separate 'finance' and 'trade' from politics. Even if you can clearly define a border now, wait few years and people will redefine it.
@WEAYL @rolandmcs @RichardAENorth Problem is that collaboration needs stability, for that u need a process how to manage those intersection points - which brings us to the current decision making process. Too much ppl believe there is a technocratic design behind EU while in practice its more chaotic evolution.
