The testimony of Kavanaugh’s alleged victims is evidence.
Democrats’ plea at the end of the process was only to seek corroborating evidence—to have a serious FBI investigation, to call recalcitrant witnesses like Mark Judge, etc.—but Republican Senators and WH maneuvered to hold the vote with as little fact finding as possible.
It’s worth pointing out that maneuvering had been going on before Dr. Ford’s allegation surfaced. R Senators and the WH engineered an incredibly sketchy doc disclosure process to filter public records through a sympathetic private lawyer before they reached the Senate.
