This is a beautiful summary of where we are. Boris Johnson's ducked his news conference because of the protests. But it took place anyway.
Not only that, but the protesters cheered the PM of Luxembourg a number of times throughout as he hit points they liked.
"Our people need to know what is going to happen to them in 6 weeks time. They need clarity, they need certainty, and they need stability. You can't hold our future hostage for party political gains." [big cheer]
"So now it's on Mr Johnson." [gestures at empty podium - brilliant!] "He holds the future of all UK citizens, and all EU citizens living in the UK, in his hands."
(And here is where Boris Johnson should have been.)
"Our people, your people count on you. Use your time wisely. Thank you."
I don't remember the episode of The Hulk where he ran away and hid.
Luxembourg PM makes it very very clear he has had nothing new from Boris Johnson at all.

"I repeat: I hear a lot, but I don't read a lot. If they want to be able to discuss anything, we need it [in writing]"
Luxembourg PM v animated: "I repeat: this Brexit, it's not *my choice*. It's been a decision from the party. It was a decision from David Cameron to do it. They decided. I deeply regret it. Don't put the blame on us because they don't know how to get out of this situation."
(Asked about extending transition period) "We should stop thinking that people want as long a transition period as possible. They would love to have *clarity*. They would love to know what is going to happen in London, what will happen in the EU, and what will be their position."
Calls out a series of lies (money for NHS, deal can be done in 24H etc.) and says "it's a pity nobody was strong enough to call out these lies in the UK before the referendum"
"A good campaign of information, to explain to people what will be the risks, what will be the difficulties of Brexit, would have been much more useful and *then* organising the referendum."
Points out that Boris Johnson's plan to break the law "wouldn't happen in Luxembourg".
"First, 1 party decided to organise the referendum. A clear information campaign was not organised in the UK with all the risks of a referendum & of Brexit. The third thing is now people try to blame others because we cannot find agreement. We did NOT decide to organise Brexit."
"It was a unilateral decision of the UK Government. We have to accept the result. But the UK Government [cannot decide unilaterally] what will be the next relationship with the EU."
"We have a withdrawal agreement that was accepted by the UK government. I just want to repeat and remind you that Theresa May accepted the withdrawal agreement. Don't make it that the EU is the bad guy, not accepting the decisions the UK proposed."
Finished by saying he wouldn't accept any responsibility, nor would the EU, for a home grown mess of the UK's making.

Boy, I wonder how clever Boris Johnson's thinking his decision to run and hide is now? That was both barrels stuff, blunt, yet entirely fair at the same time.
